Curriculum

Even though we are a small school, we offer a wonderful program with lots of opportunities for our students.  Our curriculum is enriched with lots of "extras". Our primary emphasis is motivating students toward academic achievement combined with Christian discipleship.

A complete comprehensive academic program is offered with special emphasis on the fundamental skills of reading, math and language arts.  The Bible is part of the curriculum and Christian values are integrated in the classroom and on the playground.  Everything is taught in a loving atmosphere.  Our basis curriculum includes

Bible:  Students study the Old and New Testament and memorize scripture verses.

Chapel: The entire student body participates in a weekly chapel.  Chapel is led by each teacher or an outside speaker on a rotating basis.

Language Arts: Students learn to master the English language by studying:

Reading
Phonics / Vocabulary

Grammar

Creative Writing
Public Speaking

Math : Students learn to master their math facts, study math theory, and apply math skills in word problems using the Saxon Math Curriculum.

Science: Students explore God’s creation by studying nature and general science.

Social Studies: Students study the world in which they live.

Physical Education:  Students practice skills and sport drills.

Music: Students learn about worship and praise.

Art: Students learn about color, shape and perspective.

Computers: Students in 1st through 8th grades use computers to supplement classroom learning.

In addition we offer

  • Spirit Week:  Students participate in school-wide fun and silly activities to boost school spirit.

  • Field trips: Students visit various museums, science centers, and musical and drama performances.

  • Young Authors:  Students have the experience of writing, editing and illustrating their own books.
