Teacher
Mrs. Luann Sankey has returned to her slot as ACS' 5th and 6th grade
teacher, "thanking the Lord for letting her teach and for giving her an
appreciation of young people."
Mrs. Sankey has 15 years of experience teaching
combined grades in Christian schools. After teaching 3rd and 4th grades for
five years, she took a break to have two children, whom she and her husband
have raised. She returned to teaching ten years ago.
"It is hard growing up today, and pre-adolescence
is an especially tough period in a child's life," says Mrs. Sankey. "It is
the time when young ones begin to assume responsibility for their own
learning. They need a place to succeed, and more importantly, a safe place
to make mistakes. God has a plan and a purpose for each life. A teacher's
job is to help a child recognize his/her value to God, and the need to be
all God has planned."
Three of Mrs. Sankey's favorite passages of
Scripture relating to children are found in Ephesians 2:8-10, Psalm
139:13-18, and Jeremiah 29:11. |
