John Bakker (former principal) has retired as the principal at Redwood Christian High School.

Kristina (Bakker) VandenHeuvel (class of 1986) is a stay-at-home mother with two children.  She is married to Christiaan VandenHeuval.

Patricia (Camping) Bakker (class of 1960)  is our former 1^st grade teacher and wife of former principal, John Bakker.  She now works as a substitute teacher. They have four children:  Karen (class of 1984), Kristina (class of 1986), Daniel (class of 1988), and Jordan.

Susan (Camping) Espinoza (class of 1963) has 9 children (7 girls, 2 boys), ages 14-28; 3 grandchildren and 1 on the way. Granddaughter Kayla Nunes attends ACS. Sue teaches a Special Day Class at Alameda High School (moderate to severely handicapped), and attend San Francisco State University.

Jeff Berry (class of 1971) works as a self employed contractor carpenter.  He has two girls, ages 14 and 15.

Johanna (Boersma) O’Donnell (class of 1958) has two daughters and triplet grandchildren.  She is a nurse case manager.

Brenda (Boersma) French (class of 1980 and former ACS teacher) married since 1991 to Doug French.  They have four children--Claire, Connor, Chloe, and Carly and live in Danville, CA

Jeri (Bosscha) Monsma (class of 1950) is retired.

Sylvia (Broers) Bons (class of 1978) married Frank Bons in 1985 and is the mother of four children. She is a full time wife and mother and part-time church janitor

Brenda Cammenga (former teacher) is married to Andy Cammenga and is a full-time mom. Andy is a production engineer in the Ziploc plant for SC Johnson Wax.  They have 3 children.

Brad Davids (class of 1973) and his wife, Anne, live in Boulder, CO and have 3 boys.

Susan Davids (class of 1975) and her husband, Bob, live in Pleasanton and have 3 boys.

Diana DeKleer (class of 1974) currently lives in San Diego and has two daughters, Brianna and Amber.

Julie (DeWindt) Ritsema (class of 1982) is staying home with her four children. 

Mary (DeWindt) Ascarrunz (class of 1989) is a stay-at-home mom who is busy with four children. 

Mike DeWindt (class of 1990) is an Alameda firefighter/paramedic.

Paul DeWindt (class of 1985) is a computer programmer for Family Research Council in Holland, Michigan.  He married Kerri VandenBosch (former ACS Kindergarten teacher) and has 3 children.

Warren Dole (class of 1972) & Carrie (Meeng) Dole (class of 1972) have two sons, Ryan and Scott. Warren works for an electrical sales company & Carrie is an accountant with the city of Alameda.

Ruth Dyer is a teacher at Chinese Christian School.

Paul  Dyer is an agent for New York Life.

Sarah Dyer is a teacher at Canyon Country Christian School in the Los Angeles area.

Megan Fesmire graduated from Redwood Christian School.

Sonya Hagen (class of 1990) was married in July 2004.

Jack Hickman (class of 1969) is married to Ann.  Jack works as a manager of Longs Drug Store and Ann works as church secretary at Alameda CRC.

Luann (Hickman) Sankey (class of 1967) is married to Jay Sankey.   Jay retired from the Port of Oakland and Luann is the current 5th & 6th grade teacher. They have two children, Lyssa (class of 1994) and Brett.

Raquel (Huttinga) Reenders (class of 1990) lives in Hanford with her husband, Mike, and her three sons, David, Philip and Mark.  She is a stay-at-home mom.

Dan Kreiss (class of 1964) is married to Linda Tracy Kreiss. Dan has 3 children who graduated from ACS, Kevin (class of 1983), Paul (class of 1985), and Elaine (class of 1990) Dan is a retired firefighter for the city of Fremont and Linda is a R.N. and runs Advanced Biomedical Research.  Linda’s son, Cameron Tracy (class of 1990) also graduated from ACS.

Melinda (Meeng) Postma (class of 1987) is married to Todd Postma and works as an actress and a singer.

Ginny  (Meeng) Quintana (class of 1977) recently moved back to Alameda from New Mexico.  She has a son and a daughter.

Don Meninga (class of 1966) works as Vice President of Finance at Northern California Presbyterian Homes & Services.  He married Paulina (Vandenakker) Meninga (class of 1971) who works as the Director of Development & Finance at ACS.  They have three children:  Jeri, Lisa (class of 2002), and Robert (class of 2004). 

Joy Kendra Miller (class of 1990) currently resides in Las Vegas and London and works as a television producer for the World Series of Poker on ESPN.

Chuck Molenkamp (class of 1955)  is retiring July 1^st after a 33-year career with Atmospheric Sciences Division at Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory.

Guillermo Navarrete (class of 1987) is working as an IT professional of 16 years in the Silicon Valley.  He has three wonderful children:  Joshua, Sara and Michael.

Lisa (Nutter) Vanegas (class of 1976) is the V.P. for GM Associates, Inc. and is married to Al Vanegas, an engineer at GM Associates.  They have three children.

Chris (Ornee) deRidder (former teacher) has two children, ages 2 years and 2 months. She lives with her husband in Denver, CO.  She taught six years at Van Dellen Christian School before staying home with her children.

George Pederson (class of 1980) has lived in Honolulu, HI for the past eleven years.  He works at the Hawaiian Electric Company and has 2 daughters. 

Lani Pederson works at Creative Technology U.S., a Japanese company.

David Petroelje (class of 1990) is living in Grand Rapids and is married to Rachel Hood.

Jennifer Petroelje (class of 1982) is married to Marek Sawczyk and has a son, Niko.

Lloyd Petroelje (class of 1956) is married to Harriet Petroelje. Their three children all graduated from ACS:  Jennifer (class of 1982), Michelle (class of 1985), and David (class of 1990).

Michelle Petroelje (class of  1985) is married to Dan Zempel and has two children, Luke and Annalee.

Paul Petroelje (class of 1964) works as a carpenter and custodian at Alameda CRC.

Cindy Quintero (attended ACS for 5th-7th grades (19'73-'76) lives in Castro Valley with 2 children, Samantha and Kevin, and works at the Acapulco Restaurant (right down the street!).

Beverly Reitsma (class of 1967) is a  superior court clerk. Her daughter, Ashleigh (class of 1990), also graduated from ACS.

Deann Robinson (class of 1980) is a special education teacher at Alameda High School.  She has two dogs.

Paul Robinson (attended 1983-84) is a Family D.O. in Castro Valley.  He has two children, Jade and Ashley.

Scott Robinson (attended 1983-84) is a general contractor for Justin Properties.  He has a child, Hudson.

Ellen (Rodenburg) Young (class of 1975) is married to John Young and has four children.  Ellen is still a church organist.

June Roubos (class of 1969) lives in Fresno and is employed by the Fresno Unified School District as a teacher.

Lyssa Sankey (class of 1994) is working as the human resource administrator for PCC Structurals.

Linda Sarinana Edington (Linda Sarinana) (class of 1985) has been married since 1995 to Christopher Edington and has 2 sons, Jalen Christopher and Julian Alexander. She is currently a stay at home mom and her husband is a Captain in the Army. They live in Dublin, CA.

Shari (Schippers) Brouwer (former teacher) got married in 2002 to Bruce Brouwer.  She lives in Kentwood, Michigan, and works in the Calvin College Education Department as the Teacher Certification Coordinator. 

Ankie Schuitema (class of 1967) is a transportation manager for APL.                                                   

Anna Margaret (Sietsema) Binder (class of 1967) is a substitute teacher and mother of four children.

Anne (Sluis) Powers, Ph.D. (class of 1967) lives in Roseville, California. She works as medical auditor for the State of California.  She has no kids, just Persians!

Bill Sluis (class of 1969) and his wife, Kathy, live in Davis. They have three children. 

Jim Sluis (class of 1971) and wife Chloe live in Nevada City.  They have two sons who are in the army and a daughter, Amber.  Jim is self-employed building contractor and Chloe works as a physical therapist.

Demra Smith (former teacher) is married to Dan Smith and lives in Tempe, Arizona. She stays at home with their son, Gabriel, who was born in March 2007.

Marlene (Tazelaar) Wierenga (former 3rd, 4th and 5th grade teacher, 1962-1963) is retired and living in Waupum, Wisconsin.

Arenda Van Sloten-Gunter (class of 1958) works at Alameda CRC as the administrative assistant.

Troy Van Sloten (class of 1975) is a self-employed CPA with two offices, one in Pleasanton and one in Fremont.  He is married with two children.

Bill Van Sloten (class of 1956) is a sales representative for SYSCO.

Rosemary Vandenakker (class of 1975) works at Cornerstone Fellowship in Livermore. She has 3 children.

Herb VanderBilt (class of 1960) married 37 years to Emmy with two grown children Carrie and Mark.  3 grandchildren Renae, Elaine and Danny.   Retired from Amway Corp after 35 years as a Research Scientist and is now working as a licensed Local Pastor at East Nelson United Methodist Church.  They live in Lowell Michigan. 

Dirk Vanderlaan (class of 1969) is married to Laura.  Dirk works as the finance manager for Xtent, Inc. They have two children:  Emily and Dirk, Jr., who has enlisted in the Air  Force.  

Jenny Vanderlaan (class of 1975) married Rob Westerhoff (class of 1974).  They live in Pleasant Hill and have two children.  Rob works as a Berkeley police officer. 

John Vonhof (class of 1961) lives in Manteca and works for Alameda County EMS. He has 3 children and is an author and speaker.

Sandra Lee (Vonhof) Andriese (class of 1959) has one child, Brad, and a new daughter-in-law, Raiza. She is a professional organizer;  the name of her company is S.O.S.  (Sort Our Stuff).  She works out of her home in San Lorenzo, CA.

Arlene (VanderBilt) Wyszomierski (class of 1955) has four children and five grandchildren.  She is a hairstylist and a cosmetology instructor. She lives in Grand Rapids, MI, with her husband.
