ABOUT US
Alameda
Christian School (ACS) is a small independent Christian school located in
Alameda, California (near San Francisco and Oakland).
Alameda Christian
School has provided a quality education for students from Kindergarten
through 8th grade since 1944. Because students thrive in small
classes, we limit our class size to 20 students. We currently have 80
students in our school. Alameda Christian School is a member of
Christian Schools
International (CSI).
Our primary emphasis is
motivating students toward academic achievement combined with Christian
discipleship. In addition to a strong emphasis on the "basics," our
students have the opportunity to participate in art and Spanish classes,
fine arts competition, outdoor education and community service projects.
WHY CHRISTIAN EDUCATION?
Christian schools partner with parents
and the church to make children and young people new creations.
In these special places students are being molded into new creations,
disciples of Jesus Christ who will serve Him. These new
disciples are being taught not only how to live for Jesus but also
how to be workers for Him - how to be His hands and feet and voices
to renew this sin-filled world so it once again brings glory and
honor and praise to the One who created it. We teach from a Christian
world-view.
OUR HISTORY
Alameda Christian
School (ACS) is an independent Christian School. The school was
established in 1944 by members of the
Alameda Christian Reformed Church,
whose vision was to provide an education based on the word of God. Our
Statement of Faith states the basic
truths of the Bible as we understand them and our
Philosophy of Education explains how and why we
are different than public schools. You might also be interested in reading about
our Purposes and Goals. Alameda Christian School is

(CSI).
OUR TEACHERS
All of our elementary teachers are credentialed and are highly
qualified professionals. Additionally, all of our teachers are professing
Christians. Their love and commitment to the Lord Jesus Christ is
reflected in every area of their lives.
ACADEMIC
STANDARDS
Our primary emphasis is
motivating students toward academic achievement combined with
Christian discipleship. Our small class sizes help us to attain
our goals. Christian and standard textbooks are used to form a
strong academic curriculum which is thoroughly integrated with the
Bible and Christian principles.
ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS
We require copies of recent report cards and standardized testing
scores. If a student has been home schooled, we will do an entrance
test to determine the best class placement. Kindergarten students
may be evaluated for readiness to begin Kindergarten. Students
entering Kindergarten must be five years old by December 1st.
SCHOOL DAY
Our school day runs from 8:00 a.m. to 3:00
p.m. from late August through early June, with a morning recess, lunch break and an afternoon recess. Our
morning Kindergarten program is dismissed at 11:45 a.m. with a morning snack
break.
LUNCH
We do not have a cafeteria so our students bring
their lunches from home. On Tuesdays and Thursdays, we have a hot lunch
brought in for a nominal fee. These include pizza, Chinese food, chicken,
and burritos.
DRESS CODE
Our students wear uniforms every day to class which
consists of navy pants, a plaid or navy skirt, and a white or red polo shirt. Detailed
information can be requested from the school office.
TUITION AND FEES
We strive to keep our tuition rates as low as
possible. Tuition covers all costs except supplies, hot lunch and
extended day care. We do not have a separate book fee. Click here to
